For Marel in Iceland the question arose what is possible to automatically put together a schematic package using a configurator. In 2017 I went there for the first time together with an EPLAN consultant who gave a presentation about functional decomposition.

After his presentation, we started working with a machine to arrange it functionally and build it up with macros in such a way that it is automatically configured and drawn  via an excel configurator. In 2 weeks' time, E.S.E. supported Marel in this and at the end of the period, Marel was able to automatically design a complete system via the configurator.

EPLAN now has eBUILD for this application. With eBUILD it is also possible to use a configurator, created in Excel, and to automatically generate schedules.

At the moment, Marel is also working with Propanel and investigating the possibilities with this, such as wire confection.
